Aside from this, DEAD6 is a commercial venture and will be pay to play. You will ultimately be able to login here and purchase credits that can be used to buy the priviledge of playing non-human characters, the purchase of equipment, skills and hirelings, etc. You can also expect to spend a few bucks a month to keep your character file active if you wish to play for more than the free 30 day trial period.

The DEAD6 project is built upon a very expensive game engine, by a staff of paid programmers, and the world is being created by paid builders. By the time the game opens, around Summer 2007, we fully expect to have between $20,000 and $30,000 invested in the game. This whole project is a gamble, and none of the staff involved expects to ever get rich by financially raping our players. Our hope is merely that in the course of the first few years of operation, the fees associated with the game will reimburse the initial investment and allow us to pay the staff to continue expansion and development, as well as cover the costs associated with hosting and advertising.

Those of you who are familiar with the games that our developmental staff has worked on previously know that we have a reputation for creating some of the best RPIMUDs that have ever been in operation. What we are doing here is taking it a step further, creating a totally unique and original codebase from the raw Rapture game engine and backing it with the most beautifully authored world descriptions of any game, in any genre, to date. In short, we are giving you solid connectivity, original features tailored to our game world that you won't find anywhere else, and a richly detailed and consistant environment in which to role-play.

DEAD6 promises to be a groundbreaking textual multi-player experience unlike any other. We think that when it is all said and done and you are able to enjoy the fruits of our labor, that spending a few dollars each month to support the continued staffing, maintenance and development your hobby and addiction will be well worth it.
